The Dune Coaster is a set of four terracotta coasters that can be arranged apart or together as a large trivet. Designed by Ben Medansky for Areaware, the Dune Coasters are reminiscent of the rippled sand dunes in the southwest, featuring an alternating and artful color glaze. A rigid surface keeps drinks steady, while a cork bottom ensures surfaces are protected.
Areaware makes everyday objects for home, work and play intended to invoke delight and charm while walking the line between fun and functional. Each item is a collaboration with independent designers, big and small, for a fresh perspective on the world of object design.
